_______________________________________________
In his first disc as a leader, Marc Cuevas, a double bassist with a long career as a sideman on innumerable projects, opens up the door to electronic music.
Carta blanca starts off from a blank slate. It is the culmination of a creative process in which Marc Cuevas ́ quartet enters into the world of electronic music without leaving behind the language of jazz and improvised music.
Electronic music provides an infinite range of sonorities and has opened up new possibilities in the compositional process which weren’t present from the outset with this project. As a result, Carta blanca is a disc that shows that electronic music can also form a part of the contemporary jazz idiom.

Still Tropiques but with a soft evolution. The piano is replaced (largely) with bass clarinet. It makes their sound more odd if thats possible? The guy who plays the clarinet can reach amazing screaming highs for a bass instrument! This album has multiple tracks unlike the last, yet it could still be one continuous piece if Goran wanted to mix it that way. The psychedelic keys really push this free jazz into a trippy space. I can’t stop playing this! Crinklechips
